A Finished Project

46581484_c7d01c0850_m.jpg

Here is the finished cami, not modeled by me. There is a few reasons why I am not wearing it, it need a good blocking and maybe a wee ride in the dryer, and well I never knit this to wear alone. It was knit for under blazer wear only. That might stem from the fact that my mother would have never let me out of the house in a cami only.  I realize is is Tuesday, self portrait Tuesday, but there is no picture of me today.

Look at all those bobbles. This was a very fast knit, that has been completed for about a month now, another great design from Stephanie. And I do think it will look great under my slightly puffy sleeved blazer from the Gap, maybe I just need a nice dinner out (Sushi) to wear it.

I am almost done with my two OSW that need to go in the mail. I also started blue hills  for Daniel, but I am having major problems with the decrease rounds. I am not sure where I screwed up, but I need to set it aside for a few day to lessen the frustration level. Next I think I am going to start Flora.

Our Weekend

Yep, we are pooped from doing our laundry. Sure it might not have taken so long if we hadn't waited until every item we owned was dirty, but what can you do. I also have 5 package ready to go to the post office tomorrow. So I was a busy bee, sewing and crafting all weekend. Plus now I have clothes to wear to work tomorrow, I love weekends. As I am sure everyone else does.

Wedding Wear

My sister Jill asked me to make a One Skein Wonder for her as a bridesmaid, to wear in her friends wedding. I am also making on for the bride to wear as well. It is a formal black and white wedding with silver accents, so I choose some yarn with a tiny silver thread, that doesn't photograph well. My sister had almost bought a shrug at BCBG, that was slightly furry, but over $400. So she asked me to come up with something, and here it is:

Patons Brilliant, in black with a silver thread and Classic Elite La Gran mohair. Fuzzy. The brides isn't nearly as fuzzy or thick:

Schaffhauser Cristallo: a wool, viscose, polyester mix. That also has a small silver thread and which is very soft and silky, held together with Crystal Place Kid Merino. The black OSW is almost finished, and I would like to complete the other this weekend so they can be off in the mail. I want to make sure they fit, with plenty of time of adjustments.  I love fast projects!

This is Where I Beg

dogtoruso.jpg

I am posting this as a plea, hopeing that someone will take pitty on me and make this for me. I need one, Vito needs one. I have no skills when it some to sewing up plush. But I know there are many crafters out there who are.  I am willing to trade pretty much anything to get one of these made in the likeness of my Vito. Crazy yes, but ever so cute. If you can help me out I will be for ever greatful.

Even some advise on how to make one would be helpful. Becasue I see now that there is a pattern.

Is this obsessive?

Yet another pair of sock, and another picture of my feet. Have I mentioned yet that I love knitting socks? They are a wearable quick knit, that is pretty comfy. I did have to chase after my dog down the street in these new sock, after he got out of our friends backyard. But both him and my socks are ok. the dark pink in this Regina sock yarn has stained the bottom of my converse, but other than that these are my favorite pair so far.

I have started yet another pair, which I think equals 4 pairs at this point. This time I decided to try the magic loop technique. It so much easier to learn than I thought it would be. I am not sure if it will completely replace all my dnp's, but it is pretty awesome. I am not quite as fast as I was with my double points, but I can see this getting much faster. The yarn above is sport weight wool I dyed with koolaid, my very first dye job. I think I am getting obsessive with hand knit socks.  I do have plently of other things to be knitting, so maybe this week I will work on them, or maybe not.
