He's Here!

Daniel picked him up today. Just about a week after this truck blew up. I love it, it is so big inside. I can't wait to take Vito for a ride so he can hang his head out the window. Yeah, for new cars. Now we have to think of a name. Well I guess since it is Daniel's car he should pick out the name.
Strange Magic
I am admitting my defeat, I am not going to get Clapotis done before my mom gets here tomorrow. And I am not stressing it one bit. I would rather enjoy this weekend than be knitting like a crazy woman. So she will get it someday soon, just not now. I am not sure if I am going to show it to her or not. But I am sure I won't be able to resist once shes here. Oh, my parents are driving out from Las Vegas, incase I forgot to mention that before.
I have added a ton of stuff to the links on my sidebar, so have a look. And ignore my spelling mistakes, because I am sure I haven't caught them all yet.
And just for fun here is a list of 11 random songs from my iPod:
- Burn Rubber- Bright Eyes
- Give me the Cure-Fugazi
- Collecting Things- Jon Brion (Eternal Sunshine Soundtrack)
- One Chance-Modest Mouse
- Freedom for my People- U2
- Junk Bond Trader- Elliot Smith
- Yeah!- Zwan
- Gray Ghost-The Fever
- Kicking the Heart Out-Rogue Wave
- Strange Magic- Electric Light Orchestra
- Blonde on Blonde- Nada Surf
I promise they are random, I was going to put the song no matter how embarrassing they were. Funny thing about this list is I was listening to "Strange Magic" in my car this morning on my way to work. ELO Rocks!
Adidas?
The new Adidas commercial makes me so happy. I am glad to be shelling out money to pay for cable just so I can watch this commercial over and over again. The first time this commercial aired, Daniel and i just looked at each other and said "that is the best commercial ever." So after a bit of research I found that the commercial was directed by Spike Jones, who's movies and music videos rock my socks! And the song was created by Spike brother Squeak E. Clean and features Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Since that song is so stinken awesome I thought I would share.
Every time I turn on the TV these days it seems like someone is trying to sell me something thing with a great song. I remember a few years ago I wanted a Volkswagen because their commercials were so awesome. They even released a CD of all the songs they used in their commercials . And now they are trying to sell me a "new" Jetta with a Kings of Leon song *. The song is good, but I think the cars look weird. I sat in one the other day when I dropped my car off to be serviced, they seem very Camery to me. And I think part of the reason I need a iPod shuffle so bad is because they use a Caesar song** in the iPod commercial. So not only am I a sucker for good design but the music they use in the commercials helps too.
* The song is Mollys Chamber.
**The song is Jerk it Out.
Nothing to Report
Things have been quiet this weekend, none of our other possessions blew up this weekend. We did spend a great deal of time on Sunday looking around the closed car dealerships. Hoping to find a new car. Daniel is looking into getting a Scion Xb, yes the one that looks like a toaster. We weren't ready to buy a car yet, but we think its better to do it now than to put more money into his truck, which has over 200 thousand miles. Nothing is worst than dealing with car dealers, but we shall see how it goes tonight. We might just have a new car to add to our family.
I have been a really lousy crafter! I have about 38 inches done on clapotis. So it looks like it won't be done in time. I also had a tragedy befall my Addi's I am using for Clapotis, some how they got bent into a 90 degree angle in my purse. I manage to kind of fix them with with some plyers, but they will never be them same again. Most of my weekend involved me thinking about cleaning up my house to prepare for the arrival of my parents this weekend.
I am really excited that my parents are coming to visit. Last night Daniel and I went to the store to prepare. And as usually Daniel has a great meal planned. So maybe if I stay up real late tonight, by some miracle I can finish up clapotis for my mother. Which I think is now a congratulation gift because she just found out the she has been promoted to being a Manager of her very own Starbucks.
I just check the pattern for Clapotis and the piece only measures 55 inches in total. So it I can bust out 17 inches tonight I can have it done an blocking in time for my mommy visit! High hopes, I think I am living in a dream world!
Words You Don't Want to Hear...
"Hey, honey my truck kinda blew up on my way to work today...."
But heck it is stuff like this that makes life exciting. Right?
Also I would like to add that right now we are watching the "American
Version" of the amazing British comedy The Office. And I have never
seen
something suck as much as this. Why did they have to remake something
that was perfect into .... the worst thing I have ever seen. So it
seems this post focuses around things just sucking....
