Summer tops

Tank #1 was  intended for my sister, but for some reason it ended up more my size. So even though I didn't intend this for me,  I like it!

Well  it is soft and lightweight, perfect for summer. I am not the strappy tank type, but I rather like this! Sorry Rachel, I will think of something special for you to make up for this:)

Tank #2

Ms. Marigold

Yarn: Rowan Lightweight DK wool, nine skeins

Needles: Um 6's I think

Time: Started July 4th- Finished July 10th

Modifications: um I had some issues with this pattern, so I had to just "make it work". I did do about half the ruffle than the pattern said:

but I think it is rather cute this way. Looks less like wings.  So I have to items I will actually wear this summer. Although I am starting to rethink knitting ms. marigold in wool (laugh Allison, I know you want to).  But I  know that the top will carry me to winter with a nice white button down blouse.

So I think I have finally have  posted all my finished objects, and of course I have started new thing... more socks and Picovilo to come!

Lemongrass Socks

When you start getting the "where are you,  are you ok" emails, you know it is time for another post. Vito and I are just enjoying our summer.... and I have that age old excuse: I have been busy with work. Maybe the warm weather has affected me, but only for the better. I am not one to complain about the heat, I rather enjoy some sunshine. Plus I am not suffering since it only tops out here around 85.

I have a bunch of FO to show, but I think I will spread them out as to have something to post about for the next few day. I finished *gasp* another pair of socks:

Lemongrass socks

Pattern: go see Yahaira, that girl has the info.

Yarn: Med Weight STR, in Lemongrass toe up 52 sts

Needles: Size 3 Addi, 32 inch

Time: Um, some...

These have been done for some time now. I am thrilled I finally found a pattern for this yarn I picked up at Stitches. Of all the color way at the Blue Moon booth, this on was my favorite. After many false starts, and Yahaira help, I finally have some lemongrass socks. They were to be my spring socks, but alas now it is summer, oh well!

I know I have promised a tutorial on how I pick up my wraps for a short row heel a million times. My excuse is I can't photograph myself knitting. Hopefully that will be resolved soon! I have a few more summer knits I want to finish up, before summer is over. I have enjoy my lazy blogging, no stress.  My little sisters and brother are coming to visit me next week, which means beach time.  One of my favorite summer activities! What is your favorite part of summer?

Have a great day all!

Fixatation

I have been holding off posting these, until they got to their recipient. A while back Karyn made me an amazing stuffed doxie and I have owed her a parcel for a while. I was a bit lost on what to make her until she mentioned that she loved my knitted socks. Now she has confessed she doesn't wear sock, but I think I may change her mind soon.

2 balls Cascade Fixation
Addis 3's, 32 inch
Magic loop, one at a time
Started a while back- Finished June 21, 2006

I kinda made up the pattern as I went along, per the size of Karyn's feet.  This yarn is pretty stretchy so I did go with negative ease.  Even though they we a tiny bit too big for me they were very cozy. I had a rough time keeping tension while knitting these but I would go through it all again, to have a pair of these cozy socks for myself

Short row heel, no surprise there. A quick comfy knit. And I know they are in a well loved home!

I started something new today, and I am frustrated. Lets just say no stitch count or dimensions along with extra large arm holes, make for not a happy knitter. Will I continue on? Not sure yet, but dang am I disanointed.
