Calling Sock Knitters
Hi all,

I am looking for a few test knitters to try out my sock pattern . It is pretty basic, ribbed with a short row heel. Things seem to make sense on my end, but I need a few more eyes to look at at. If you are interested leave me a comment and I will get in touch with you on the details. All you need is some sock yarn and an understanding on how to knit socks! Thanks I think I found my knitters!
D had his second set of xrays this week. The doctor sounds really confident that he will not need surgery. He might even be able to walk on it in a few weeks. That made us both very happy clams. He still won't let me knit a cozy for his uncovered toes....
Ankles
Ta da, my picot anklets are done.

I love them.
Yarn: Yarn Pirate in Culture Club from Pure Knits... and charcoal gray Louet Pearl from Tangle.
Needles: 2mm Addis 40inchs and clover 2mm dpns
Pattern: 2 at a time, magic loop, picot cuff, with a center decrease afterthought heel from The Twisted Sister Sock Book. All followed up with a wide toe.
Time: Started Aug 11- Finished Aug 17th.

I am glad I tried an afterthought heel. I like how it turnout out. Easier than a short row heel, and way less holes. It won't become my heel of choice though, because I didn't like how my sock was finished and then I had to go back and do the heel. But on occasion I will use it partly because it was so fun!

Do I need to tell you again how very much I love this yarn? I have two more color ways I need to share another day. Georgia does such a great job picking out colors and dyeing in interesting combinations! Plus I really prefer her thinner tighter twisted yarn. It appears my 2mm addis are going to be bust for a while. I still have enough Culture Club left to make a full size pair of socks too!
And while we are talking about ankles, I thought I would share this as well. Click here to see the notes.

Late Monday night I got a call while I was in a work meeting, from my husband. He was on his way to the emergency room. He had a bad fall while skateboarding at the park. And yep he broke his leg about 2 inches up from his ankle. He only broke one of the two bones, so that was good. But the Dr. wants to see him again next week to make sure he doesn't need surgery.
So we are getting ready for our weekend at home, relaxing and watching movies. Heres hoping that it heals ok on its own! I feel so bad for him, but honestly I think I enjoy being his nurse:) So it seems for the next 6/8 weeks we will have a lot of time at home, him healing and me well.... knitting.
She is back on the socks kick again.
Yes, I admit it, I have a problem. I really only want to knit socks. I am not sure how this happened, but I can't get them out of my mind. I love knitting socks, there I said it. I am sure no on is suprised I am back on the sock kick.
I recently got a chance to test some new socks yarn for Allison's new store. It is from the yarn pirate, and I love it. I just mail off the sample sock to Allison, and I miss them already.

I knit these as a sample for her store, out of the Paris color way. This yarn is thinner than louet based sock yarns and has a tight twist. And is softer than str lightweight. There doesn't seem to be any pilling or fuzz either. I knit these in my basic sock pattern, 2 at a time, from the cuff down. I even wrote out the pattern for here to give out with this yarn.
I loved this yarn so much I ordered more from Yahaira. This color is called Culture Club, and it is so fun! I started with a picot cuff. These will be come anklets with afterthought heels, something new I wanted to try. I think the heels and toes are going to be grey. Can you tell I am a little excited about these! I decided to make ankles because I have more than enough yarn to make another full sized pair of socks, I just need some instant gratification!
