Blah
I guess I am just having one of those days today, the kind of day where you really don't feel like posting. Because you don't want to complain but you do post because, it seems to make you feel better. One of the things that is really getting me down today is that my sister Jillian had one of her dogs pass away yesterday. She had taken all her dogs to get "fixed" and one of them, James an English Bulldog, didn't wake up. I guess he had a bad reaction to the anesthesia, and he pass away before my sister and her husband could get to the vet. He was the sweetest, cutest dog (beside Vito of course) and he wasn't even a year old. I just feel so sad for my sister, I just can't imagine how she is feeling right now.

Besides that it just seems like everyone is dealing with some rough things right now and I am feeling it too. But tonight I get to go home and give my husband a big hug, play with my baby and eat some dark chocolate m&m's. Which I finally found at walmart last night. So at the very least I can be thankful for my big family hug I'll have later.
Fun with GIF's

Since I can't post my recent craft projects, because they are a surprise. I was having some fun playing around today, making animated gif's. I am just trying to share the Vito love on this rainy day. I am trying to learn a bit more about web design, the key word there is trying. At least today I can say I know the difference from a jpeg and a gif. But never fear I am a busy crafter right now, but I am just working on secret swaping projects. Yesterday I mailed out the postcards I made for the postcard swap. And today I am off the the post office again, with more goodies.
The Sock Update
Yes, I am still working on the socks. Daniel finds it so funny that I am knitting socks, because I refuse to wear socks, and these socks are becoming huge and thick. They are like major heavy duty snow socks. And since I don't like the snow, I realize now how funny this project really is. The pattern I have been using is from Oz yarn, and it looks like it is no longer available. It has been a very easy first sock pattern, but I don't think I will make these again. Next I want to try a toe up sock pattern or maybe a pattern with heal wraps. There are some super cute baby socks in summer edition of Interweave Knits.
I have so many little babies to knit for so I might get started on some of these. One skein of Lorna's Lace makes 3 pairs of baby socks. And consider almost all my expecting friends are having boys, I think I will just get some light blue. I must say I do love baby feet, and I must make little socks.
I have decided to join a bunch of swaps, so some of my current craftiness I will not be able to show until the swaps are finished. I am working on an awesome iPod cozy and I can't wait to put it in the mail so I can show its greatness. I also joined this wonderful swap, which involves making a small pouch and filling it with fun things. But tonight I will be sewing some postcard for the postcard swap I've joined. That and hopefully finishing the world warmest sock.
Tiny Sticks

Ok, I decided to try another sock. In an attempt to get it right this time I even check my gauge. I can get a lot accomplished while watching CSI. I like Thursday nights because there is 4 episodes of CSI on, and one of them is a new. But only like the Las Vegas ones, none of this Miami stuff. What's next CSI Omaha? That would be exciting eh? This weekend there is a big fair in our town, and it just so happens to be in the big park directly behind my house. So that should be fun.... I just want to see the art booths and the cars show, not have a complete play by play from my living room. Oh well. At least it is the weekend.
Secret Skull Project Revealed
I decided to create a hat for my friends baby, to match the striped sweater I am currently knitting. And what is better than skulls...Really? The pattern will be available here soon, and also from the my patterns section on my sidebar. The hat was knit with Rowan Cotton Glace, and I don't think I will try "fair isle" in cotton yarn anytime soon. My stitches are uneven because I was finding it hard to keep an even tension while knitting. I think that this hat is just the first draft and I will probably knit another, with more even tension before the baby is born. But I am very happy with the pattern and proud that I managed to figure it out. This size should fit a one year old. And I imagine you could make the hat larger or smaller but changing the yarn thickness. I will be in the process of typing out the pattern today, so it should be available tonight along with the excel spreadsheet of the chart.
I hope that my friend like the hat and that I get the sweater done before the baby is born. I have until the end of June, so I might just make it. But just incase I did decide to make the 12 month size instead of a newborn.
I am feeling much better today, I think I might have warded of the sickness for a little bit anyway.
