Not a whole lot going on

But I thought I'd take a break from the packing to show what I have been knitting. Not much really. I started some jaywalkers toe up, to take on my plane ride (last weekend) and lets just not get into what a awful fiasco that was. I had every intention for shooting a bunch of pictures, tracking their progress, but yeah that didn't happen.

Jaywalkers (come on now am I the LAST person to knit these?) Socks that Rock, Lightweight, in Hot Flash. This was their special color I picked up at Stitches, with some of the money going toward breast cancer research. A little pooling but I am happy.

Now my favorite color of STR in my stash is Lemongrass, as seen above. It is medium weight, but it still knits up at about 8spi on 2.5mm, for me anyway. I love this color but I have had a heck of a time finding the right pattern. For some reason I am not feeling simple socks, but so far I have gone through 4 different variations. Two are seen below:

Jaywalkers, too big and to much pooling.

P- socks, again too big. Nice pattern though, I want to knit these soon. Before these two there was two slipped stitch patterns. But tonight there will be yet another draft, I am copying Yahaira, and I think it is gonna work out perfect! Do you ever feel like your yarn hasn't found the right pattern yet. Like it isn't worthy of your ideas. Well thats how I have felt about lemongrass.... but I will be knitting with it soon!

I think the P-sock pattern goes very well with the colourway ... maybe you can see how to decrease some stitches to make it fit. Good luck.

Great pink socks. What size needles did you try for the p-sock? I had to go down to a 2.5mm.

That's a nice colorway, I don't think I've seen it before! I totally agree with you, you can't force a yarn into a pattern (although I've certainly tried!) It takes patience to let the yarn find the pattern that's right for it, but definitely worth it.

At first glance I thought you were knitting some sort of pink bra thingy. Snort. There you go with that Lemongrass temptation again. I need to quit lusting and call the STR peeps to see if they have any. (Off to make the call now.....

Nope...I haven't knit any...YET! I was really thinking I didn't like the look of the pattern (call me silly!), but it's starting to grow on me! :)

The pink Jaywalkers look gorgeous. I love the way they're striping up.

Yes, I had the same trouble with my Sockapalooza socks. I think that I tried three different patterns before settling on one that would work. Sometimes yarn just has a definite mind of its own. Good to know that I'm not the only one who has trouble with that sometimes!

I love that color too - had it in my hand an MD but decided on Rose Quartz instead.....I think Yahira's pattern will look very pretty with the muted colors!

I know how you feel -but it's worth hanging out for the right pattern to match the yarn (or vice versa).. and I can officially tell you "No, you're not the last to knit Jaywalkers"!
