Progress

I have been making some progress on my knitting, but I haven't posted these in a while. First up I started a pair of sock for my dad, Toe up, the same pattern as the Socks that Rock in the previous post. Except I have added more stitches to accommodate a mans foot size.

These are knit with Louet Gems-Sportweight, for some reason I was thinking this yarn was fingering weight, all the while I was confused. So these are some dense socks, as I decided to knit them on 1s instead of say 3s.  I am not sure if I should rip them out and start over, now that I realize I am working with sport weight yarn... duh.  Either way I think my dad is going to love them, I was so happy he asked me to knit him a pair!

While I was visiting my family I ended up showing my mom her unfinished Birch. I realize it has been quite a while since i posted a progress picture, and just yesterday someone asked me if i was finished. Well no, I am not finished yet, but I just started the third and hopefully finally ball of yarn.

I still enjoy working on this project even though it has kinda taken a back seat to a few other projects.  What keeps me moving along is seeing it all blocked. Yummy lace. I think I even have my second lace project already picked out.

And lastly here are my sad Elfin sock,  I have made really no progress on these in a while. I think they are feeling neglected. Cause you know knitwear has feelings.

To make up for my ignoring them, I have big plans for them this weekend. i have decided they will accompany me and my darling husband to the Laker game at the Staple Center this Saturday. Yep, as a Christmas present from Daniel's family we are going to a game! Actually it is a Lakers vs Clippers game so it should be exciting. And my Elfin socks will be there keeping me company.

Well, if a Lakers game doesn't settle those socks down, I don't know what will. Unless, of course, the socks then expect to be taken to additional cultural and sporting events and get snippy if such is not forthcoming...

I have to admit, when I caught the first glimpse of your dad's socks, I thought you were making a string bikini top! LOL.

I thought the black socks were a bra!! What kind of support would a knitted bra give?

That sounds about right - when using Louet Gems Opal for socks, I use US 3s to get a good density that's neither too loose, nor cardboard-like.

Wow, what pattern is Birch? I know it's called Birch, but I'm not familiar enough to know if it's from a book or what. It looks really amazing.

HA! haha Soo funny. I'm not the first one that thought it was a bikini top! hehe

LOVE the STR socks!! Beautimus! Love the little Vitos! LOVE your Birch!

I'm just catching up from Christmas knitting and baby colic hibernation. I've missed reading your blog - have a wonderful New Year!

P.S. I still intend to make that stuffed Vito. I have some awesome fabric for it. :)

I love that you're going to take your knitting with you to the game. Sounds like something I would do/have done before. Can't wait to see the shawl finished. No pressure though.
