Socks, Part 4

I am not sure how many socks  have started around these parts, but one thing is for sure I have never finished one. But I think I have finally found a sock I love, a project I can finish and wear. Alison's ankle socks. As I have said many times before I don't wear socks, and I don't need thick wool socks, they are really not a necessity here in California. That is why I have decided that these socks are awesome, not to mention short and cute. I will actually wear these, with my sneaker even in the winter.

I was really restless the other night, so I busted out the pattern and the awesome short row tutorial and got started on a new pair of socks.  I have always been intimidated by Priscilla Gibson-Roberts' yarn-over method of heels. But it has also been something I have always wanted to figure out. And I am so glad that I took the time to read Alison great tutorial. The heel was a breeze and I love how it turned out, decently my favorite method so far.  Another great thing about ankle socks is you jump right in to the heel instead of miles of ribbing.

I decided to go with some hand dyed knitpicks yarn I made a while back. And of course due to my super tight knitting I had to adjust the pattern, casting on 68 instead 52. And no my wide feet had nothing to do with that decision. I have found I may love sock knitting after all.

Those are coming out great! You'll be done with it in no time, and I'm glad you were able to find tutorials to do it the right away.

So very cute. I love the yarn you're using. And way to go turning those heels! Wowzer. I tried a gusset for mittens once and I don't think I'll ever be able to master it.
