Early Birthday Treat

My mother in law brought my birthday present last night. I love birthday weeks! While she was in LA she took a special trip to a fabric store just for me. She got me two books one about handmade bags and the other is called The Dorky Handmade Look, a funny book about quilting. See:

She also picked me out some fabric, that is very yummy. All of the fabric is a heavy canvas material.  Never mind my wrinkles:

I love all of the fabric, but I think that the brown swirly on is my favorite. My mil said that this was the most amazing fabric store she had ever been too. I can't wait to visit it as well. Dorky me forgot the name of the store, but I can look it up when I am at home later. I am excited to make something out of my new fabric, but on the other hand I don't want to cut them up yet. I have a few more fun things to make for my family before my visit next week, but tonight is a special night. Laundry Night.

Those are great! She really seems to know what you like. Have fun with your laundry tonight!

I think I love the one with the flowers, but it's so hard to choose. Great taste for the MIL.

Happy Happy Bithday! And I love the fabrics and am curious to check out those books. And I completely know the feeling of just having the yards of fabric sitting on shelves or in dresser drawers -- it's nice to just know they're there. In one big piece. Waiting for a fun project. Speaking of which...
