The Sewing Nook
Now that we have moved into a one bedroom apartment, we no longer have a dinning room. Instead we sold our kitchen table and decided to make the dinning area the computer sewing area. Which is pretty stinken great on so many levels. I can listen to music on the computer, I can lean back and see the tv and I am not all by my lonesome in a cold room. Last night I relished in my new sewing area and watched CSI at the same time.
I made a little zipper pouch, which by accident is inside out. I was planing on doing some cute stitching or something on the outside, but since it turnout wrong I just left it as is and figured it was a learning experience.

A while ago my fabric store was selling zippers of ten cents each, I bought about 30 and now I am wishing that I bought more. The other day while I was in there I was going to offer them 10 bucks to take the rest of them, but they were gone and I was sad.
Here is my first attempt, at a folded wallet type thing. I couldn't resist putting a little bit of Vito love into it too. I didn't put and snaps or velcro on the inside flap, because this is just a first draft. I would like to work in more pockets and a neat closure into this as well. So for now this draft can hold my dpn's.

I finished up my back-tack swap as well. I decided to go with a needlecase and I used up the rest of the great fabric. I had intended to use some fabric from my stash as well, but everything matched so well so I just used what I received. This is the second needle roll I have made and this one turned out much better. I think it might have to do something with ironing the fabric. Sometimes I am so lazy, I don't iron, I don't measure gauge... but I wanted this to turn out well. So here it is the needle roll for my secret back-tacking friend:

Now I just need to fill up the pouch with some special things and put it in the mail. I love sewing in my new nook, I am glad to be motivated even if it only lasts a week.
