Sock Issues, The Jaywalker is dying.
I decided to start my Jaywalker socks, even though I have two other unfinished pairs on my needles. Seeing that it is Socktober Fest and all. Well apparently that was a bad idea! These sock are unhappy, gauge wise. Everything started out so great, I had gauge I was knitting along with my hand dyed yarn. I started the zig zag pattern and all of a sudden I was way off. So tight in fact that my ribbing is buckling. Part of my problem I think is it is hard for me to knit a "pattern" on dpns. Especially one the size of toothpicks. I am constantly afraid I am going to break one. So I am going go up a needle size, switch to my trusty addi's magic loop style and maybe add a repeat or two to the pattern. Right now the sock is measuring 6 inches, when it should be over 9. Part of what makes this pattern great is it's stay up power. Which also is working against me because there is no give. Now I am not sure I want to give my lower leg measurement (9.5 ahem), but 6 inches with no give doesn't even fit over my foot.

In good news I think the colors work themselves out well in this pattern. What do you think? Does anyone have a solution to my sock knitting fiasco. I really want to finish these socks!

These are the sock I sent Ann, for the lovely stuffed Vito from Sundays post. I want to take little Vito outside of a photo shoot, but it is foggy and gray. So maybe the weather will be better next week. Back to the socks, these are made with an almost sportweight wool sock yarn that I dyed. I like them so much in fact I started a pair for myself. I am halfway through the first sock. I promise to try to have some post in the near future that involve things other than socks. So stick around. Any advise you can give about my dying jaywalker would be appreciated.

The socks are lovely.I will try to email you a picture of them on my feet. Thanks so much. What size is your needle for the magic loop I am thinking of trying this method doing 2 at a time!
